  • The Debt Ticker

    Hi Jeffrey and Nate,
How does the U.S. Personal Revolving Credit Debt ticker work? (I thought it never went down, but I just saw it do that. Oh. It just jumped way up again when I went to get more coffee!)
Where does it get it's data, and how 'real time' is it?

I seem to be fascinated by it, kind of like a deer in the headlights.

It shouldn't be jumping around...I will have Nate take a look at it. It's an estimate...we take the latest debt date which is a few months old and then project it forward...then adjust when the next month's data arrives.

      Thanks Jeffrey.
This morning, it seems to be jumping from the 700,000 to 900,000 range, and back again, but never changes the 'millions'.
It's done that twice, in the times I've watched it this morning.
      Have fun figuring that out.

I'm rooting for the day when it is moving in the opposite direction - I doubt that will come in my lifetime.
