Has anyone checked this out? You enter the ISBN numbers on your books and see if they will buy them...if they do, they tell you how much they will pay you. You send them, then they reimburse you for shipping...you can get paid by check or paypal. They buy lots of different books...

honestly, if they're books you won't use and the prices they quote you are decent, they're probably worth a shot. The only caution would be if they have a clause somewhere in there that says they can change the amount they pay you based on the quality of the book... there are a number of places i can think about that will insist that your books in fine (or pristine) condition are damaged, and they knock off 50% of your payment. that is generally the exception with places like that, but i've not heard of them, and it is a possible end-scenario. Before sending a bunch of books to them, i'd recommend doing them one at a time for the first 3-5... if they're going to try something on you, it'll probably be after the first book or two they buy from you. -
The site is actually cash4books.net, not .com.
I just checked it out. I've been selling on half.com lately and doing pretty well so I compared what I would have gotten had I used them instead. You might want to reconsider dealing with them unless you really need cash in a hurry.
For the last 5 books I sold, here is what I got on half.com and what I would have gotten from cash4books:
1. $10.95 --- $3.79
2. $7.99 --- $0.71
3. $7.59 --- $2.32
4. $10.99 --- $4.58
5. $14.98 --- $2.71
Pretty dramatic difference. Of course, with half.com, there was no guarantee the books would sell, but considering the price difference is so great, even if they hadn't all sold, I still would have come out ahead.Steve

My total for the 5 books on half.com was $52.50 vs. $14.11 for the same 5 books at that site. Even after the commission on half.com (15%) that's still $44.63 vs. $14.11, more than 3 times as much money from half.com.Originally posted by gamecock43 View PostSteve

To be fair, I thought about this on my drive home. There are some books that I have not listed on half.com because I looked them up and they were selling for next to nothing. There are also books that I've listed on half.com that haven't sold after months of being listed. In those cases, I would definitely give these folks a shot. Some money is better than none, and it is a guaranteed sale. If I come across the books I chose not to list, I'll see what I could get for them at cash4books and report back.Steve

Yes, I have used them...usually in the case, when the book hasn't sold in other areas, such as ebay or half.com. Prices often are better than a garage sale...but not always. There are still books even they won't buy back.
