  • What do you do for a secondary income?

I'm looking into making some money outside of my job. What are some ways that you guys have made money on your own time? Any suggestions for places that I should look to make some money on the side?

Thanks for all of your help in advance!

I just did it the old fashion way about a month ago and applied everywhere I could think of. I got on at Kohl's part-time and it's not too bad. For many people, the quickest way for extra cash is to just go out and get a job.

I miss the time that I'm away from home, but these days it's a necessary evil. (for me at least).

I think a lot depends on what you need the extra cash for. If it is an immediate need, then finding extra work where you get paid right away is the way to go. If you are thinking more long term, then creating a side business yourself is the way to go. It won't produce money right away, but will likely produce a lot more over the long run.

I send my wife to work.

Seriously, I sell on ebay. I do a bunch of online professional surveys (not open to the public). And I try to find good deals when shopping because spending less is just as important as earning more.

spend less, it's like getting a raise. after that, sell things on ebay, that works for a lot of people. find an area in which you are knowledgeable. then go out and find those things to sell. Just this week I sold two sportcoats on ebay for about $50. They were just hanging in my closet. If you could make that much per week that would be an easy and fun souce of secondary income. I just do it occasionally, but it is fun and keeps my closets from getting overcrowded.

Just to second what several people said, remember:

A penny saved is MORE than a penny earned, after taxes.
