How long does everyone think that the recession will last? It seems that things definitely haven't hit bottom yet, and once they do they will still be there for a while.
I've read several articles saying that expect things to start turning around sometime secord or third quarter of 09, but in all reality, who knows. Things will recover eventually if history is a guide, but how long it will take is based on a lot of intertwined and complex issues.
Yep. Traditionally, the market recovers first, so that's what to watch for. A recession is defined in hindsight, based on past performance. So we are already in one before we know it and we're already out of it before we know it is over.

See. They are just announcing today, 12/1/08, that we've been in a recession since a year ago. By the same system, it may be a year from the end of the recession before we know it is over. So while the recession may end sometime in 2009, we probably won't know it until sometime in 2010.
