  • Where do you do your shopping from?

My regards to all, as the web is developing so is the e-commerce business related to it. Most of the people make their purchase online and have some of the sites that they prefer to purchase from, on their list. I would like to know the places that you prefer to make your purchase from and why?

I try to do as much shopping online as possible, for both home and work. I live two hours away from a larger city, so having it shipped to me is great, especially in the winter.

I have used a whole bunch of sites. I try to use amazon if I can get free shipping, but basically I'll use whatever site has the best price and good reviews. Beware the low prices at some sites, you need to check the shipping cost, because they overcharge for shipping to make-up for the low price.

My basic process is figure out what I want, then go google(shopping) the item so the prices out there, I might check a few sites that don't show up in google. I like to use sites that give me cashback because I'm using a particular credit card, or sites that I have coupons for free shipping, % off, etc.

Trust is an important factor when shopping online. We still seem to be wary of the experience, though it's not nearly as bad as, say 10 yrs ago. I'm close to stores, so I still do most of my shopping offline. For books, travel, technology, and information - I usually head online.

I trust Amazon, Ebay (at least their rating system), Dell, CDW, Buy, Expedia, Travelocity, and smaller sites that I receive newsletters from.

I have a few sites upon my list that I prefer to use while I shop. But, the most recent one I have been using is signature below that has a large collection of books, toys, games and videos so that you can select the best from these and make your purchase according to that. You can always browse the price range feature to get products according to your budget.

I like to use Product Reviews and Reports - ConsumerSearch.com for product reviews. There are a lot of questionable websites out there and i wouldn't feel comfortable dealing with one i wasn't familiar with or seemed fly-by-night. So i tend to stick with the larger, reputable businesses that are reliable and price-competitive, like amazon.com.

Yeah, I almost always look up a review of any website that I purchase something from online before I make the order. This has saved me from getting into a lot of scams and I would recommend everyone else does the same.

I get a lot of media stuff off of Amazon. I also order a lot of music equipment which is usually from Music123 or MusiciansFriend. I've also become addicted to Woot.com, even though I hardly ever buy anything, and steepandcheap to buy outdoor gear for camping and hiking. If you're ever looking for a new coat, or anything outdoorsy, check out steepandcheap.com

            What about you rechel?

most the things I buy are online - and amazon often wins out. I also use the HMV and Play.com websites a lot.

I have a trial PRIME account with Amazon so I am getting free 2-day shipping on most products at Amazon. I also have used Land's End free shipping coupons this year and get free shipping from LL Bean because I have their VISA card.

I always look for a discount code or free shipping code before I purchase online. 9 out of 10 times I will find something to use.

I live on an island and there aren't a lot of choices unless I drive 30-45 minutes and I just don't have the time to do that. I am doing 90% of my shopping online and I believe that I have spend less then $15 for shipping costs.

I don't shop online as I like to see the quality of product, and test it before I buy it. online might save taxes, but it costs in terms of shipping.

When I do shop online, it will be for something that is rare that I can't get locally for cheap, or something that I can pick up locally.

So when I go shopping, I go to places that have the best prices/discounts. PROXIMITY is important to me. I may want to return it.
