    Hi everyone,

We put money in a dependent care FSA every paycheck, and it has worked ok for the last two years. Every 3-4 weeks we have to submit a request to the FSA administrator (Ceridian) and they will issue us a check. Lately though, I have noticed that it is taking them longer and longer to 1) process the claim and 2) issue the check. For instance, I faxed the latest request on 11/14, and it has not been processed yet. Usually from the time it is processed before the check is issued it can take up to 1.5-2 weeks. So that is quite a bit of lag. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and whether this is even legal? Maybe Ceridian is having cash flow issues?

We, too, use a an FSA Benny-Visa for healthcare expenses and our card gets "temporarily suspended" over and over (for "questionable" uses such as going to the dentist or buying the same low cost, generic BP med we have bought every month for the last 25 years!) I end up having to pay for medicines out of pocket and then seeking reimbursement from the account, when the Benny card is supposed to link to the account directly, like a debit card. I see this as being similar to the administration of your FSA childcare reimbursement being slowed down as it is. I think the administrating companies are trying to hang onto the money as long as possible.

Our FSA account is so small that the aggravation of dealing with it --often having to submit documentation for run-of-the-mill, yet to them, "questionable" uses; having to pay otherwise while card is suspended-- may not be worth the tax savings.

That would be great. However, this is for dependent care, and I doubt my nanny takes VISA

All joking aside, we also have a regular FSA with Ceridian, so I may look into whether we can get the debit card for that account.
