  • School supply charity?

Anyone have a link to a charity that would accept school supplies.

I have collected so many pens, pencils, sticky pads, and other paraphenalia that I would like to donate them to a charity that would give them to needy kids or schools.

I am trying to "simplify" as the modern cliche goes.

What about you local schools? The other good place to donate school supplies is a shelter for battered women. The usually go there when getting away and their kids are with them.

Also, certain churches collect and distribute school supplies directly to schools. It's just a matter of identifying and finding them......

Our clothing and food pantry takes school supplies and will give out a tax receipt.

Sometimes companies, churches, etc. will sponsor events where they assemble filled backpacks for needy schoolchildren. (A real estate agency in my old neighborhood did this.) Maybe do a web search for a similar program in your area?

Or ... if you are interested in drawing new people in to your business, you could make those items the foundation for a "fill the backpacks" drive that your business conducted. (That might mean waiting awhile ... like until next summer, when the next "back-to-school" season commences.)

I teach at an inner city school where 77% of the kids live at or below the poverty line. If you'd like to donate anything, let me know!

you may give your supplies to the nearest church or chapel in your area, or donate to early-Christmas-charities on restos
