I am preparing an article query for a national women's magazine on financial infidelity.
What is financial infidelity? It is when couples make money decisions and deliberately try to keep their partner from finding out. It can be something small, like telling your spouse that the new shoes you bought were on sale when you bought them full price. It could be saving money in a separate account that your spouse doesn't know about, just in case. Or, it could be taking a second mortgage on the house or filing for bankruptcy without telling your spouse.
I am looking for couples who have experienced financial
infidelity and have overcome it. How did you confront your partner about excessive spending (or how did you come clean if it was you)? How did he or she react? How have you forged new financial and romantic bonds?
I can keep you anonymous in the article, if that is your preference.

Thank you!
