  • Tax Consequences For Working In A Different State

In about two and a half years I am considering moving to KY. However, I will probably end up working just across the river in OH since the jobs in OH pay more. What are some of the tax consequences for working in a different state than you live? The cost of living is lower in KY.

    Thanks.

It depends on whether the states have reciprocity....

Ohio and KT have reciprocity- I learned that in my tax course yesterday. If you live in KY and work in Ohio you will only have KY state taxes withdraw from paychecks and will not have to file an Ohio tax return.

The Ohio city or municipality might have taxes withdrawn.
