        Here's a better suggestion! :-D

Rent them from your public libary. I read the entire financial section at our library for free. If you decide you reeeaallllyyy need to have a particular one, then you can buy it.

I like the "Finish Rich" series by David Bach, although all of his books repeat the same things over and over. It's still good, frugal brain-washing! Richest Man in Babylon and Millionaire Next Door are favorites of mine also.

My favorite is "All your Worth" by Elizabeth Warren. I was able to get it at my library, which made it even better!

All Your Worth by Elizabeth Warren
Your Money or Your Life Joe Dominguez
            The Wealthy Barber
Getting the Most out of your money - Jane Quinn
            Suze Orman's books
            The Millionaire Next Door

All of these books are in the library at no cost. If you decide that it's a book worthy of your library; you can purchase them used which usually are in great shape.

Dave Ramsey's book is also very good and is in the library as well.

What about Rich Dad, Poor Dad? )

Bach's book - Smart couples finish rich is just excellent and very motivational.

Anything by David Bach, Suze Orman, or Dave Ramsey is great. Personally, I HATE the Rich Dad/Poor Dad series.

There was a free 'investment fundamentals' book that was free in the times at the beginning of the year. I read that and thought it an excellent introduction to trading.

For more generic money reading I have had the 'The Millionaire Next Door' reccommended to me several times.

My suggestion would be that you block out a chunk of time, go to the library or bookstore, and browse all of the personal finance books. Read the front and back flaps, and the table of contents. If it looks interesting, read the first few pages. Choose the book that appeals to you the most. Some writers will appeal more than others.

I started out with "Making The Most of Your Money" by Jane Bryant Quinn. It helped me immensely. That book might be a bit outdated now. She has a new book called "Smart and Simple Financial Strategies for Busy People."

scfr: Thank you for correcting the name of the book by Jane Bryant Quinn. Usually, is you type in her name; the correct title will come up.

It was from her book that I did my retirement planning from and used her planner for knowing how much I should save for retirement. I found the book to be very complete even though it is an older book. The information is valuable.
