  • Financial "Gurus"

What personal finance "gurus" do you listen to or read? I love Dave Ramsey's radio show. I also like David Bach (Start Late/Finish Rich) and Suze Orman. What about you?

I am not a big fan of the Rich Dad series.

I know there are dangers in following one guys advice entirely without educating yourself. That is why I am looking for other good books.

    Debt-Proof living by Mary Hunt
Master your Money by Ron Blue

Any of these plans done faithfully, will have good results. Includes your books and others.

We are big fans of Suze Orman and I really like Mary Hunt's no nonsense approach. Ric Eldeman (sp) has had some interesting books as well, but I don't follow everything. I enjoyed the book "The Millionaire Next Door" as well.

I too enjoyed The Millionaire Next Door, as well as the follow-up book The Millionaire Mind.

I really enjoy listening to Dave Ramsey's TV show, as do my kids for some reason(?). Funny story, last night my 5 year old daughter came up to me and said she had to tell me a secret. She whispers in my ear "Dave Ramsey is awesome!" I had to laugh........

I have read The Automatic Millionaire by David Bach, that was good.

        I can't stand Robert Kiyosaki.

I can't listen to or watch Suze Orman.

My favorite book by far is The Richest Man in Babylon. I have loaned that book out so many times I have lost count.
