I have gotten coupons off ebay numerous times because I also get limited coupons in the area where I live. I have only had two problems with sellers. One was slow mailing them. The other said that they took Paypal and then said that they didn't. Because they were so wishwashy I did not pay them. I try to keep a good stockpile on items that we use on a routine basis. Sometimes I may order 10 or 20 coupons of the same item from an ebay seller: however, sometimes the coupon sites limit popular coupons by only allowing a couple of coupons an order.

Update: I received my Babies R Us coupons, and the seller sent me 6 15% off 1 item coupons instead of the bid-upon 4. I am sure I will easily recoup my $15 investment.

Coupons on ebay are a bust. Most were for things I don't need (I usually make many of my own cleaning supplies and I'm not particularly high maintanance on the beauty product end). Also, most expire this week. I guess it was a waste of money as a learning experience. I'll be happy just learning to make a list of what is actually needed and if I come across a coupon, great.

Coupons are whatever you make them. If you bid on auctions of coupons you won't use of course they are a bust. I rarely bid on auctions of misc coupons. I usually go after the ones that are listed specifically. I have saved so much money from getting coupons on ebay. Twice I have bid on misc auctions and won and once it was great and once not so great. that is the chance of bidding on something you don't know what it is. There are auctions on ebay for an envelope. It may or may not contain money. I think they say it always contains at least a dollar but not sure. That is an auction I never bid on cuz I have no idea what is in it, but if I did I couldn't say it was a bust cuz I knew what I was getting into.

I've never tried purchasing coupons on Ebay before. However, I did want to say thanks for the links to some of the other coupon sites. Some of those look promising.

I just bought five $10 off a $50 order coupons for Safeway on ebay. They expire 12/08 so I will definitely use them. The total cost was $8.50. I think it was a very good purchase.

I agree. The best thing to do is to look for coupons when you have a specific need. This assures that you will buy only what you need.

Another update. I bought five coupons worth $10 off a $50 purchase at Safeway. Since we shop at Safeway anyway, these were a no-brainer for us. Total cost for the coupons including shipping was $8.50. I just used the first one so I have already recouped my costs. So I went and bought another 15 coupons (enough to last for the rest of the year). I figure I will save around $200 for the year.
