Momof1in150, your no-left-turns plan appeals to me. It makes me recall that I actually put a little extra mileage onto our car when I drive our friend home because I turn right and circle around to avoid turning left onto one of the busiest, most accident prone streets in the city. Then I encounter a one-way street and so have to drive a bit farther just to avoid that left turn.
Later, when I am out for exercise, I will also stop at the grocery for a box of crackers: No miles racked up except on my shoe tread.

We spend about $45 a week for my Honda Accord, and another $40 for my partner's Toyota Corolla. I'm very glad these days that we bough fuel efficient cars! We had thought about an SUV when we last bought because our 3 boys were teens and stuffed into the back of our sedans. But they rarely all go anywhere wth us all together anyway, so I'm glad we went with the smaller cars!
