  • APRIL - Get Fees Waived Month

They seem to have a day, week or month for every possible thing, so I thought I might as well start inventing my own for saving money. I decided to do this after my problem with compuserve (its somewhere in these forums) and I'm dedicating the moneth of April to getting all the fees I possibly can waived.

I will be going through all my monthly bills and looking for any and every fee that I can possibly get waived. I also thought I'd invite anyone else that would like to try this to join me in my quest.

I also know that I'll forget something somewhere which is typical of me. So if you have been able to get a fee waived in the past, place it here too so people can check those areas too to see if they can get the same fees waived.

I think it would be great if we had a whole list of fees that everyone got waived this month. Join me if you'd like and lets see if we can get rid of a lot of the pesky fees that cost us so much each year.

I'll take a look at mine and see what is what. I don't think I"m getting nailed with too many fees but I'm going to check any way!

I called my telephone company today and took off a lot of the extras I was usingly at most infrequent. That reduced my bill $15 a month. In addition, I was able to sign up with a discount plan that seems to be better suited to my calling needs which should reduce the bill more. Phone fees taken care of, cable fees are next.

So I took the challenge and got a $4 bank fee waived. I have a checking account with BOA, and a while ago, they sent out an offer of $25 if I opened up a regular savings account. So I did, and the employee assured me that the accounts would be linked and as long as the total balance of all accounts was x, I wouldn't be charged. Then, today I had a $4 charge because the daily balance in the svgs account wasn't $400. Turns out that the savings account wasn't linked to the rest, so the phone rep linked them and credited me the $4. It's not much, but it's all I need to make my day !
