  • Is money given in charity taxable?

    If a person gives some money to some chritable institution or donate some money to help the poors will that affect the tax. Or it will provide deductions in the income tax?

    It is a deduction not exempt from taxes.

        Deductible on taxes if you itemize. If you take the standard deduction, then your contributions to charity will count towards reducing your taxes.

          If you itemize, you'll put this on Schedule A. And don't give cash. Give a check so that you have a proof for the IRS if they ever audit you.
