  • Do you have confidence you'll reach your money goals?

I was curious whether or not others here are confident that they will reach their saving goals? I wasn't very confifent when I first came to this site, but I have made a lot of improvements and have more confidence I can do it now. I still have a long way to go, but at least I think I can do it.

Err NO, prolly part of my problem. I thought I could and things were going well, but things change.

I think it is hard because sometimes unexpected expenses come up. I believe I will achieve my financial goals but it may take longer than I hope.

I kow that I will reach my financial goals...just when I will manage to do it is a different thing...back in 1999, I thought that, even with the baby, I might be moving into my own house by Xmas of 2001...but there were many things I hadn't thought of (like my parents being bankrupt and in debt!) ....right now, my goal is "debt-free in 2007!" (meaning by the end of 2007, of course!...) We'll see if that can really happen...If nothing else, I am at least confident that I'm on the right track now!

Yep. That's probably because my goals aren't well defined. I want to live well and retire well. So I know I'm going to get there, but I'm going to enjoy getting there as well.

Hmmm My latest goal, be out of deby by 2035 hehe nice long mortgage.

I think the initial goals I set may have been too unrealistic.. but judging from the amount of money I've been able to free up from bad habits, I just might be able to accomplish 2 out of 3

It takes alot of patience and determination- and I congratulate all my fellow boarders for taking the first step. It's not easy to juggle expenses, loved ones (kids, DH, etc), AND save a lil' here and there for a rainy day.

I have confidence I will someday reach the rest of my goals. I have had a few set backs but I really learned alot from them. And I have gotten good at getting things free & only doing free things for entertainment & I have finally gotten jobs that I can schedule around my kids & dh so now I can bring some money into our home too. So I am sure someday I can reach my new goals. Right now my goals are buying a different car & someday a bigger house maybe in like 5 years I am hoping!!

I think I will meet my goals. There are always setbacks along the way, but hopefully there will be good surprises too. I have a long way to go, but I have come a long way too.

My credo is, "Ya Gotta Believe"! Yes, I do have confidence I will get there some day!

Re: Do you have confidence you'll reach your money goals?

While I'm trying hard to make the changes necessary to get out of debt and get my finances in order, my income never, ever seems to meet my needs and no matter what I try to do, I end up borrowing from Peter every single pay. It seems I can write a "budget" until I'm blue in the face and it'll never work out. I can only curb my spending so much -- I have to live.

Now with the price of living going up far faster than my income, I'm not sure I'll ever meet my goals. I used to be happy to keep my bills current, (which I've always been able to do) but now that I've changed my goals to actually trying to get out of debt, with the ever changing financial landscape, I doubt I'll ever reach my goals.
