I can also vouch for checks in the mail. They have a lot of designs, reasonably priced. I only made the mistake of ordering checks from the bank ONCE. OUCH!!!!
I remember a post on SavingAdvice.com somewhere on being careful w/where you order checks these days because if the paper is too flimsy or thin then your bank can refuse to process them as they crumble or gum up their processing machines.
Has anyone noticed that about the only places out there anymore that don't accept online payments are......BANKS! I can pay almost every bill I receive online. The only acceptions are my mortgage, car payment, and one personal loan (that will be gone in 9 months). Yes, I could set up automatic payments for them, but I prefer to initiate the payment myself. I just can't imagine why they wouldn't have systems in place to facilitate that. In today's IP environment, it can't be that huge a transition, and they'd be able to get their money quicker with online payments.

I've been paying my mortgage, credit cards, and car loan via online bill pay for several years now.

I pay my mortgage online. My home equity loan is on auto-pay from my checking account (I got a 1/4% lower rate for doing that) plus I make extra payments to principal online that I initiate.
Are you sure you can't pay yours electronically?

* Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
* Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
* There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.
I use chase and they dont have electronic payment for bills , some manaul crap where they will mail a cheque
Until about 6 months ago I was a long-time Chase customer. I was able to pay my bills to practically everyone using their online bill pay. In fact when banks are the payees that's usually better because the payment happens in 2 days, 1 day -- or if Chase is the payee -- same day.
There is an icon that shows the estimated time to transfer the payment. Worst case is 5 days if Chase must mail a check to the payee. But that is still free.
(I noticed the spelling of "cheque"? Are you in Canada perhaps? This may be why it's not available for you.)
In the past I have ordered checks from Current and Checks Unlimited. That was when I used a lot of checks and couldn't do without the designs. Currently, I get my checks free from the credit union. I only write about 4 checks/ month at the very most.
