    Sorry, let me elaborate. There are plenty of fathers who pay child support who were never married to the mother. Your friend should get on this pronto and get his a#$ moving. It's a totally different legal issue. And she should not accept less than what she is due. There is no reason why she should be so worried about expenses while he lives high on the hog.

      Aevans is most likely correct, but it would be best to find out for sure by consulting with someone from Child Services.

      By the way, there's also nothing wrong with bringing along a family member or friend to these meetings for support. It wouldn't hurt for your wife to offer to take her downtown to provide encouragement and support, and more importantly, to make sure this is expedited.

        I second that! The most important thing is that your friend and her child are taken care of.
