Agreed. The worst case scenario is that the patients that don't tell their physicians about their intake of supplements which could in effect be an interference with their prescriptions.
Like you, if I have to take 50 supplements a day, I beter check in to a hospital.

This is the same reasoning (or lack of reasoning) when patients insist on brand name drugs. They convince themselves that generics, being cheaper, must not be as good. More expensive = better in their minds.Steve

Steve - You are so right about people jumping through the hoops for MLM and buying into every claim they make but being "skeptical" about traditional medicine. I have friends who are deep into the nutritional movement and MLM. The point I try to make is that nothing they are trying to sell me is "natural" because what they are selling is superconcentrated and put in a can or bottle. Their stuff is no more "natural" than any pill that has been modified and put into a package, etc. And, it is always amazing to point out the fillers that have been added to these "natural" products" as well. Tylenol and other medications are just as natural as that stuff.
And, it is also amazing that people will pay $100's per month for this stuff and then complain about having to pay $4 for a month's prescription. Go figure.
I think taking nutritional supplements and realizing they are supplements is fine. But, when you start touting them as curing everything from A-Z then your BS o'meter should kick in.

MonaVie is a Scam
I signed up for the MonaVie business opportunity in March of this year. I have worked really hard to build this business and have invested hundreds of dollars into the MonaVie business to try to make a go of it. Throughout my time in MonaVie, the local leaders in our area have encouraged me to continue to invest my money and time and would be a Black Diamond inside of a year if I worked hard.
I have now come to realize that they have done nothing but lie to me and my family and made fraudulent statements to me and my friends so that we would continue to invest our money in MonaVie. They claim that anyone can make the money they are making if they spend enough money and time.
Everything they have told me is nothing but lies. I now know they only helped me so that I would buy more product to further their business. Monavie is a good product, but the company is horrible. They reward lying thieves and take money from hard working people like my family. Everyone I have brought into the MonaVie business is not quiting because of their lies.
I hope someone will shut them down before they spread more hurt.Last edited by jeffrey; 07-31-2008, 05:32 PM.
