    No spending for me on this "windfall" either.

    Remember . . . what one administration/congress giveth the next can (and probably will) take away. Tax rules change constantly.

      What do you mean? This is a one time thing. After the checks come out in May what are they going to do, demand you give the check back?

      Considering that this was a bi-partisan bill widely supported, there's no reason this would be changed.

      Heck, there was (still is) tons of opposition to Bush's tax cuts, but those are still in effect.

        Some really wealthy taxpayers may look at as a redistribution of their tax dollars...they pay taxes and the government is now taking some of it and giving it to those who earn less.
