  • The Price of Eggs

It's winter in the northern hemisphere and those light dependent chickens have slowed down unless the "egg-farms" are really good with artificial light management. So egg prices are always up in winter.

What are you paying for a dozen large eggs? I'm not sure how much they are at the big grocery store, but one discount type grocer sells them for $1.99. So far, I've been able to get them for $1.25 at the place where I buy large quantities of vegetables.

$1.75 is my cheapest right now and that is with getting them 3 dozen at a time (we make everything from scratch nowadays including pasta so we go through them).

We have been paying about $1.99 and sometimes $2.19 depending where you shop.

They are $2.50 here, and organic ones are near $4 a dozen.

I'm in N.E. Ohio and bought a dozen large eggs at Giant Eagle yesterday for 2.20. That might be a little high and I could've probably gotten them a little cheaper elsewhere but I was there picking up a sale item and needed them so I got them. But yikes eggs are high. I remember getting them for $0.49/dozen at Easter a few years ago. Wonder what they'll be this Easter??
