Who carries a cell phone?

Who in your household carries a cell phone? Do your kids have phones?

Were 2 people with one cell, plus the landline. We don't use the cell much at all. We have to remind ourselves of appropriate times to take it out with us.

No kids but there is two of us with two cell phones. The only reason we have two instead of one is because then we can talk to each other. We are on the road alot so its handy when we aren't together. I have considered going down to only one but then I couldn't talk to my husband anytime we were apart and I don't think we would like that very much. For example, I have a trip coming up the week after Thanksgiving and I will be gone for 4 days.

We each have a cell phone...no land line. His is a luxury..but helps when he is stuck behind an accident and hours late coming home.

Not that it would be the end of the world if not, but we like it.

the oldest kid is 5, never without mom or dad so no need for a phone ('cept in Sunday school, but then he could walk to us faster than he could dial, and us find the phone)

We all have cells. I got mine in 1991 when I was a medical resident on call outside of the hospital. I needed to be in contact at all times. It was a bag phone back then, but they have gradually gotten smaller, of course. I got my wife one at the same time just for emergencies as the cost of the 2nd phone was minimal.

We got our now 12-year-old daughter her phone earlier this year. She was getting to that point where she was starting to do things without direct adult supervision and we wanted her to be able to contact us or the adult chaperone she was with. She has been very responsible with it, only using it to call us to pick her up or to say goodnight when she's been away overnight. It is worth the $10/month for the convenience and peace of mind it brings.

I do. I avoided getting one until I started freelancing and commuting via motorscooter. At that point I thought it would be good to have a cell for emergencies and for work and employment calls when I was away from the house.

DH and I each have one, as well as the older girls who are 20. We also have a pay per use one (currently not in use) that we put minutes on when needed--such as for one of the younger kids when they go on a trip without one of us- esp the middle daughter who has medical issues. But since everything outside of our little town of under 3000 persons is long distance, we use our cells for daily calls frequently.

I got my first cell phone in February of this year. I resisted having a cell phone for many years, but finally decided that it's better to have one for convenience sake. I got a prepaid phone with 1100 minutes good for a year, which cost me $88, and the phone was free. I still have about 900 minutes left on it. When the minutes are about to expire, I am going to refill it with another $10, which will make all unused minutes to roll over for another year.

We share a prepaid phone. DH usually carries it with him as I'm home most of the time. I'll take the phone if I need it- like if I'm going out of town. I'm not a huge fan of cell phones (get sick of people abusing them and annoying me in public), but as a convenience and sense of security, and used as such, it's great and I'm glad to have it around.

I have T-Mobile To Go prepaid plan. The phone is Nokia 6030, which is a pretty basic model, no camera, but it's a good phone. You have to look for a good deal. When I bought my phone, Target was having a sale, and they were giving that phone for free with the purchase of a $100 prepaid card, and the card itself was also on sale for $88.

We share a prepaid phone too. It's rare that one of us isn't either at home or at the office. But I kind of think we might have to get another sooner or later.

Dh and I both have cell phones. I had him on a prepaid phone for a year, but he just went back to a regular line after running down his minutes during a family emergency. I use mine for business (real estate) - it's practically required when you're an agent, especially one who primarily works from home but doesn't want to get business calls at my home number.

I've had one since 2000. It's been my only phone since 2002.

I'm more mobile in retirement, and I no longer have people to take messages for me.
