  • Routines

Do you think that most of your routines are beneficial or sabotage your saving plans? At church today they talked about routines in a religious sense and I started thinking about them in other areas of my life.

When I come home, I have a routine of leaving all my money in the jar by the door. That is a positive routine for me saving money.

But I also have a routine that I buy a bunch of muffins and pasteries every Sunday which is not a good routine for my saving money.

I'm going to spend the next week looking closely at my routines and seeing whether or not they are beneficial or not to my saving goals.

    Re: Routines

I have alot of good routines, and I have trouble seeing the bad ones, but when I find them I try to strangle them.

My biggest trouble however is with building new ones to replace the bad one so I don't wonderaround like a lost soul wondering what on earth I was supposed to be doing.

      Re: Routines

Routines are a huge part of getting your finances in order. Bad routines will keep you in debt forever if you don't change them. Good routines will get you out of debt and saving money faster than you ever imagined. The hard part is being able to see the routines. Try taking a day and asking yourself "is this a routine?" for every single thing you do and then if that routine is good or bad for your finances. It can be surprising what routines you've been doing without even thinking about it.
