Sometimes I fold clothes or do crunches or leg lifts but mostly just end up falling asleep. Although I do like the foot massage and it is a good time to cuddle with your significant other or scare the children in the middle of a scary movie

      is that a bad thing?

I wish I could do two things at once, but I can't. Some people can work while listening to music, but when I tried that, I either can't concentrate on my work because of the music, or I can't hear the music because I concentrate on the work. Even when I am driving a car, the music serves as background noise; a lot of times I am not even aware of what song is playing on the radio. When I am watching TV, I often have to rewind it on DVR because I skip important conversations while I was thinking about something else.

I used to do homework. I eat in front of the tv, I open mail, when I am at the gym I watch TV while on the elliptical machine. I've been known to read and watch TV at the same time. Usually a fluff book or a magazine and I'm waiting for something else to come on.

I do crafting stuff...currently tieing wedding invitations and cutting out decorations. I've made curtains while watching TV.

Give my honey a massage. Talk about the day. I comment on the show a lot, probably more than I should.

A lot of the time, I'm watching tv while on the computer and talking on the phone. I also eat while watching tv and I clip coupons. I can clean the room I'm in and when commercials come on, I can get up and load the dishwasher or do some other small chore.

Fold laundry, go on the treadmill...if it's a show that I'm not terribly interested in (one someone else in the room is watching), I will do crosswords or sudukos, although I do get distracted from them if the show gets interesting. Sometimes I tackle a pile of papers that has accumulated to sort and file. I really only watch a show every few days though, with an occasional movie.

I clip coupons, surf the net, list my items on ebay, eating, cuddling with my kids.. I guess, you can do almost anything that doesn't require you to leave that room.

I'm with PrincessPerky, when watching with my kids, I'm usually discussing what is going on. It's good teaching and bonding. My kids will point out (in cartoons and such) "OOH, that guy didn't say excuse me!". And I usually will ask them how they should behave in certain situations.

When watching alone, usually laundry, cross-stitch, crossword puzzles, or a million other chores vying for my attention.

Price junque' (hrrumph-- I mean exceptionally high quality merchandise) for my antique boothes, rest my peepers (*cough* I mean nap), catch up on magazine reading or make small mending repairs.

My main activity in front of the TV is eating. I used to knit, but haven't for a while. If it's a show I'm only somewhat interested I'll do the dishes & peek my head around if I hear that something interesting is happening.

I file papers with the tv on. And I have to have it on when I paint rooms or I go nuts trying to focus. Otherwise, I don't have it on much during the day. At night, I often crochet while it is on. I used to iron.....don't even know where the iron is now-lol.

If it is during the day it is only on when I am folding laundry. If it at night when the kids are in bed then nothing. I need some down down so from 8-10pm I relax.

I don't watch much tv. In the daytime, i walk on my treadmill upstairs, in the evening, I try to jog in place when tv is on.

I do homework, read, go online, clean my room, stretch, talk to friends. I actually don't get a lot of watching done.

For me, the TV has become a great way of tuning out my housemates.
