Just did my first Pinecone survey!

I recently signed up with Pinecone and received an Email that I will soon be receiving my first survey. It's reassuring to hear that there have been some positive experiences with this origanization.

I registered in May and have had five surveys, including one in-home product testing. I think another product test is due to arrive any day. There are probably a number of surveys I miss out one due to a couple of obviously disqualifying demographic characteristics.

DisneySteve, did you actually do a survey? If it was just questions about what type of products you use, then you don't get paid for that.

No, it was an actual survey. Watched a 30-sec TV commercial for a new product and answered a series of questions about the ad and what I thought of the product.

My money goes right into my Paypal account - usually the next day. Then I just forget about it until there's something I want to buy on Ebay

I've got mine set to go to my Paypal account also. Will I get an e-mail when that happens? I keep a log of my survey earnings and if it just goes in automatically, I'll forget to record it.

Yes, you will get an e-mail. The nice thing about Pinecone is that you will be paid the next business day after you complete a survey.

I do one about once a month and the check is very prompt. They pay $5 for a survey.

How do taxes work for money earned from surveys - do survey companies send out tax forms at the end of the year stating how much you've earned during the year?

You'll receive a Form 1099 only if you've made more than $600 from the company. However, you're expected to pay tax on all your earnings, regardless of whether you receive a 1099 or not.
