  • Emergency disaster pack

With all the disasters that seem to be happening, I thought I should put together a disaster pack. I have a couple of gallons of water, flashlight and food in the cupboards. I have a basic first aid kit. What other things should I have on hand? Where should I place it in my house?

Batteries (store them separate from the product, they seem to last longer), a camping stove and fuel, a small pot and skillet, a manual can opener.

They have these friction flashlights now. You pump a handle on the flashlight (like a trigger on a gun) and the friction charges the flashlight. This means you don't need any batteries for it and you'll always have light no matter the situation.

Candles & water. Of course I have a 1000 cistern, so the water needs would be met.

But I don't think a disaster pack would have helped those people buried under tons of mud.

I don't even think a disater pack would have helped the tsuami victoms. Most probably it would have been washed away with everything else.

I'm not one to worry about what probably would never happen. Too many other things to worry about.

I thinks ones biggest concern would be their souls. If you're prepared for that, nothing else really matters.
