Another interesting aspect to the whole Louis Vuitton love affair that many have in the U.S. is that there is the prevailing belief that LV, because of its price, is of good quality and construction. That is actually not the case. Coach and Chanel handbags/small leather goods have far fewer returns than LV due to poor construct. Spending a lot of money doesn't necessarily ensure quality/durability. Not to mention, that LV bag is really quite ugly, IMO.

I agree, txex86. Sometimes paying more does ensure better quality, sometimes it doesn't.

LV has been doing a lot of price increases lately with no change in how the bag is being constructed. The increases can't be just due to inflation.

I'm a purse junkie, and I would never spend that kind of $$. Teh most I spent was $85. I look at purses the way some women do shoes.

If I saw someone carrying that though, I'd assume they got it in Chinatown.

I'd rather have the $45,000 in a cheap purse than a cheap looking purse that cost $45,000. Honestly it looks like an e-bay reject. Or a bad 7th grade Home Ec. project.

True, but LV thinks they can get away with selling this piece of crap as an "artistic" accessory. As the saying goes, "Caveat emptor."

I just hope LV is wrong and for once the people that can afford that ugly thing say no.
