  • Too many electronics chargers

I don't know about anyone else, but the number of chargers we've accumulated for electronics devices has gotten ridiculous. I didn't realize it until I was packing for our trip. We have:

    3 cell phone chargers
    1 iPod charger
    1 GameBoy charger
    1 electric razor charger
1 rechargeable battery charger for digital camera batteries

How did we ever live without all this stuff? So much for packing light.

It would be nice if all the cell phone companies would learn to play together and standardize the charger needed so one charger would work on any brand of phone.

    * Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
    * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
    * There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

Radio Shack and I think Best Buy sell something called an iGo charger. Basically, you buy the charger unit and you can then purchase different adaptors for your cell phone, iPod, etc. It's great! It really consolidated the amount of chargers you need to carry with you.

My sister just had a house built. In the pantry, they have a shelf built with a hole in it leading to an outlet w/ many plugs. The sole purpose is to accommodate chargers.

        heh now that is funny.

My husband and I have the same brand of phone so only one charger is needed (the other is stored in the suitcase for travel)

We also have the battery charger for camera and such...I recently convinced my husband to get rid of the dup charger there.

No ipod, no gameboy so we escape that problem....in fact the phone and batteries are the only chargers I can think of....

I can agree with the idea of an universal adapter for all your devices. However, I haven't personally found the need to buy one yet.

For now, I coil each of my chargers into separate plastic sandwich bags, and place them in a basket in the closet, which has power outlets inside. When I need to, I'll take the appropriate charger out, plug it in, charge, and put the charger back in the bag when I'm done.

The system works well enough for me.

I'm probably alone in this, but I prefer my iPod charger and digital camera battery charger to the mounds of AA batteries I used to need to pack for my discman and film camera, not to mention rolls of film.

Be careful, BA, that you don't get the cords wrapped around you while you are sleeping.
