  • Last chance for July checks to come

Not to sound greedy, because I'm not, but I am a bit disappointed by what I've made doing surveys this month. Last month, I made $363, which was fantastic, and I vowed to do every survey that came my way. Previously, I had been in the habit of passing them up far too often which was basically throwing away free money. I haven't tracked every survey I've done (though I did just start doing that), but I thought I had done at least as much as last month. With just today and tomorrow left to July, my survey income this month is below June's. I'm at $260, over $100 less than last month.

As I said, I have started tracking when I do surveys. Before, I just recorded when checks came in. I've done surveys totalling $340 that I haven't been paid for yet, so August should be a better month (not that there is anything wrong with $260!!).

One thing this month is that one survey company pays me in Amazon.com gift certificates, so once all the payments come, I'll have $150 credit at Amazon. I need to figure out what to do with that. I know Amazon sells all kinds of stuff now, not just books and music. Definitely need to do some browsing and figure out a practical way to spend that money. I do want the Avenue Q soundtrack as we saw the show a couple of weeks ago, but that's only about $18.

Everytime I sign up for these I get told I don't qualify. I'd go through about 3 pages of 1-3 questions and then get told, sorry, you don't qualify or we have enough already. and not just once or twice but a lot! I got tired of it fast! I guess I just don't get good survey sites.

cicy33 - The surveys I do are medical surveys for physicians. Though even with those, I don't always qualify. The same thing happens where I answer a series of qualifying questions just to find out that I don't qualify for that particular study. Most of the time, though, I do qualify so I don't get upset about the ones that I don't qualify for.

One thing that I try and make a point of is responding as soon as possible when I get an invitation. That way, they are less likely to have filled their quota before I get a chance to participate.

        DisneySteve,

        Would chiropractic physicians count?

Or do they just want real doctors?

Whoa, $300 bucks from surveys is some real money! I had always assumed people made very little. Or do most average Joes make very little?

The average person makes a few dollars/month I would think. These are specialized surveys for physicians only. Some of them are quite detailed about various medical treatments and such (really boring sometimes but they pay well).

There may be companies that do surveys for chiropractors. The surveys I'm doing wouldn't be for you, as they are usually about various prescription meds, diabetes, hypertension, etc.

Well, I spoke too soon. I just got home and guess what was in today's mail. There were 2 checks totaling $105. That brings the total for the month to $365, $2 more than last month.

Again, sorry if I sound greedy but I've been busting my butt to do every single survey I got invited to and it was just kind of disappointing to do all of that and end up making less than I made before. I feel better now.

Wow that would be nice how long do these surveys typically take to fill out? I have recently got a hammock chair from amazon for my hubby for father's day. It is either a chair or a lay down hammock and is very nice I don't know how practical it is but it is nice to lounge in.

It varies and, of course, the payment varies depending on the length and complexity of the survey. Some are as short as 5 minutes and might pay $10. Others can take 45-60 minutes but might pay up to $100 or more. Most are probably in the 15-30 minute range.

Some are such that they have to be done all at once, like a series of live interactive web-based conference calls. I log on and call an 800 number and speak directly with a rep for 10-15 minutes about a particular medication, then complete a short online survey after that. Others are strictly text-based online and I may start the survey and periodically come back to it throughout the day when I get a break or at lunch, so a 25 minute survey might actually take me 3 hours to complete bit by bit.

Amazon also sells some nonperishable food and magazine subscriptions-maybe you could find something among those?

as a food service provider I get offered surveys

the most i have ever been paid is 50 bucks, but do not get enough of them to make a monthly income I can count on that's for sure ;-)
but it is definitely worth my time to do them when they are offered

The non-doctoral among us clear about $20--$70 a month in normal surveys. You are very lucky to be making as much as you are with what you are given. Methinks you are looking a gift horse in the mouth, Steve.

That's great, especially the upper end of that range.

And yes, I realize that I am very lucky. The only reason I started this thread was that I had really made a major effort to do more surveys in July and it didn't seem like that effort had paid off. It did in the end so I do feel foolish complaining about it. Got a little greedy there for a moment.
