No way would I be embarrased!!!

I know (also only by asking ) what day & general time of that day my local grocery store marks down the pre-packaged meats (lunchmeats, sausage, bacon, etc) so I can be there to buy them. They still have 3-4 days left before the expiration day when this occurs, but the stores mark it down to make room for newer merchandise. I freeze what we don't need right then and it works out great!

I also check the bakery for markdowns.

DH & I married in college, so we had to find ways to save early! We have purchased meat like this since 86.
