  • the gift card

Hi there, I am new to this forum and as far I did read from these posts here, it looks so great forum with advice down to earth. Get to the point, I need advice on a gift card. The gift card that I redeemed through the Citi Card Reward programm is Cirius City gift card in amont $100.00. I could have redeemed other gift cards instead, but I choosed this one. Now my problem is that I really do not need anything from Cirius Citi so is there any way to exchange it somehow somewhere or replace it for same or little less amont in cash????

    Thanks for all your input!!!!

    Welcome to the forums.

Although I've never used it, there is a website called SwapAGift.com where you can buy, sell, or exchange gift cards with other people. It has been featured by several major US media outlets -- Good Morning America, US News & World Reports, etc -- so it sounds legitimate.

You can also do a Google search using the key terms "swap gift card" or something similar and you'll find other online services as well.

ps. I have never heard of "Cirius City" -- do you mean Circuit City? I

Another option is ebay. I've sold gift cards on ebay several times. They almost always sell for very close to face value. Most recently, I sold a $100 Ruth's Chris card and it went for $99.01. Minus fees and I still got about $92 which we were quite happy with.

I would agree with disneysteve - the dedicated websites usually buy giftcards at 70% or below face value - ebay should get you a better price even after all the fees.
