  • Health Insurance?????

Hey All!, We need some info. Our current health insurance has gotten really bad. They have raised premiums, and lower coverage. Again!! Our co-pay for meds. are $90., my dr. was shocked when I told him. Office visits are the same. We are not saving much, if anything. Our deductable is up to $3000. I could give the name out, but I'm not sure if it's allowed or not.
The question is? Are their any good insurance's out there. I have to stay around 400. per month. That's what we pay now.Threw where my husband works. I know there are plenty out there. I just don't know none but blue cross. I checked with them and they do have one for around 600.

Need help? I'm not very insurance smart?
    Thanks.

Sorry I can't help. We had blue cross but the premiums got so high. We paid in about $90,000 and never had a penny claim. Our deductible was so high. I finally cancelled it and just got one on my husband with a $10,000 deductible. So, I have none.

eHealthInsurance was just mentioned in Kiplinger's as a great source to do research on various plans. You may want to check them out.

You have to be careful with ehealthinsurance. Some of the companies they represent are, let's say, not the best. Use them to check some rates and find some companies if you want to but be sure to check out the companies as well.

I prefer dealing with an independent agent/actual person, such as through the company I referenced in my post above.

I thought they only raised rates at the start of the year. Did they do it just recently?

If you join some sort of membership group, even your local Chamber of Commerce, you could be eligible to join their plan. You'll need to ask around.

There's no reason not to 'out' the lousy insurance company. Only when people complain in sufficient number will they and our congresspeople feel pressured to actually do something about it.

Have you seen the movie Sicko? It's all about the health insurance industry.

I am perhaps not the person you want to take advice from. After all, I have no insurance by choice. That said, here goes. I would think about my age and what I was trying to insure my self and family for. You can get a cancer policy. You can get a accident policy. Or you can opt for an everthing policy. What most persons really need is something to cover themselves if the very worst happens....

This may be unconventional but go to healthbase.com. I feel their services is a very interesting concept to counter the rip off our health care system is imposing on our population.
