Oh, BA, I so LOVE your sense of humor and style! I have the problem of being technology challenged. I don't know what I'd do if I got something that does more than one thing. Half the time I drive my kids crazy because I forget to turn on the cell phone.....

I listened to someone on the news station this morning that were comparing the Iphone to the others out there. He said that he liked the Blackberry because of the keyboard and functions and also mentions a phone that I think that he called a Helo phone that I thougt was very cute. Like he said, there's only so much you can do with any phone because of its size.

Am I the only one that thinks Apple priced a lot of potential customers out of the market?

Mom from Missouri, I still have a working 8 track in my car. (1978 corvette) (And I thought CD meant certificate of deposit)

That's part of the Apple mystique -- exclusivity. It's easier to lower the price than to raise it.

Didn't the RaZer phone start out at around $500. Now it's a giveaway.

Not at all. Did you watch the news this week? Folks were camped out from Wednesday on to buy their phones. Price was no deterrent at all.

Actually, big controversy around here as the mayor of Philly was also camped out all day yesterday waiting to buy a phone. Problem is he was on "company time" when he was supposed to be working. A couple of times when he got out of line to attend to city business, he had his paid aides hold his place. Of course, the mayor has been an imbecile from day one. Thankfully, we moved out of the city 13 years ago.

Some people paid more than the price of the phone. They were paying people to stand in the line to buy the phone. How important can it be to have that phone to go throught that? Those are the ones that like the image of being the first to have this or that.

                  Ah, sarcasm. I love it!

I read an article where some woman paid some guy who was first in line $800 for his spot. She brought along $16,000 to essentially buy out all the iPhones in the store to sell on eBay, only to realize too late that there's a 2 per person limit.

Then there's this guy, whose name I will not mention, that is supposedly some kind of professional first-in-liner. He's making his rounds as a minor internet celebrity right now, because he's first in line for one of the Apple stores to get an iPhone... even though he doesn't care about the iPhone. He appears to just enjoy being first, and often times, grabbing the media's attention as Mr. Joe Public.

                    Some people....

I was in an Apple store today (Ipod repair) and I looked at the iphone and played with it. nice but out of my price range.

That said, if tehy were selling for a pretty penny on ebay, I would have bought one to sell. They were selling for like $20 over list, which would have been eaten by ebay fees

About two years ago, my husband called me and said that he was going to stand in line for Krispy Creme donuts so he could win. He went all prepared in his van and stayed there and slept as well. So, he was the first one and I must admit that we and all our friends and family had donuts for 1 year. It was great because I had been on the strict Atkins diet and had been craving donuts. I rarely eat them but isn't that what you want when you can't have it.

I asked my husband what possessed him to do such a thing and he said that it was something that he had never done and just wanted to do it just for the sake of doing something different.

I would hate to have to go back and forth. It seems like too much work.
(This was referencing the keyboard implementation).

It's a smart tradeoff, to have a larger surface area for the important keys, than to offer the numbers as well. And, honestly, I tried it for about 10 minutes and could already see large jumps in my ability. I think you will see its users develop the ability to type very fast - faster than on the smart phone keyboards as they stand now.

I saw the plans being offered on apple.com and they weren't nearly as expensive as the rumors had said. The $80 ~1000 minute plan seemed reasonable, yeah, a little high, but certainly not crazy-expensive.

Now let me give one reason why I want an iPhone. With iPhone I can make my own apps how ever I want it and when ever I want it.

I must admit I was tempted to do that very same thing. Maybe next time there's a new Krispy Creme opening I will do it.

Speaking of iPhone, I think its overpriced. I rather use Windows Mobile phones. Samsung or LG perhaps?
