I know it's been a while, but between the busy time at work and getting married I have had little time for the joy or reading here. I am hoping to find some good morsels in what I have missed.
Can I say WOW!! I never in my wildest dreams thought I would receive the windfall I did. I still can not believe how generous some people were and how much stuff I still need to find a place for. I was forced to take back some stuff, that I would have used once in a while, simply because there just is NOT enough room in my house for it all!!
Not to mention all the cold hard cash, the stack of gift cards, and all the gifts that just keep on coming. I was also amazed at all of the extended family that traveled long distances to the wedding. I am truly blessed.
I have found adjustign to married life, a little over a month now, to be wonderful. I married the absolute best man for me out there! I am sure we still have some things to figure out, but we learned one important lesson already....sleep with our own blanket! If I don't he steals mine or wakes me up a thousand times as he moves...and he moves alot when he sleeps....thank goodness I already had a foam bed, so I don't feel it...as long as we don't share a blanket.
Money wise I cannot believe how much money I know have to work with! I am trying to set up all kinds of funds for future known expenses and get enough saved up to open IRA's on top of our work plans which we have maxed out. I still find it hard to grasp all the changes I have gone through over the last year, but they have been good.
Plus it looks like we will get getting a nice chunck of money from an investment I made years ago. That will go a long way in getting the second paid off and those IRA's set up.
I don't know what I did so right, but I couldn't have asked for more, nor be more pleased with how things have turned out. I'll try to get back into saying hi here more often again!!!
Loves,
The VERY HAPPY newlywed
