    Need suggestions on these!

    If you are new to investing in shares, and perhaps got a very little in terms of investment...how wud you go about it. what do u suggest wud be the basics towards investments

        Oh, a no loader for sure. I like index funds too. How about Vanguard Index 500?

          A total stock market index.....vanguard has a good one (VTSMX). Another option to buy an s&p 500 or total market ETF from a discount broker like sharebuilder.

            without knowing time horizon, advice of particular funds or investment styles like indexing is misguided.

            What is money to be used for?
            How long can the money stay invested?
            If the investment loses 20% in the first week, what would you do?

              I did some research in this department and I heard that D.R.I.P. (dividend re-investment program) stocks are a great investment. Any profit you make is re-invested into more stock of the same Company.

                Open an account on Etrade, etc. Buy a good blue chip stock and reinvest the dividends. But, an S &P Index fund is a good place to start. You can open the account and have a monthly amount deducted from your bank account.
