  • New Year Money Superstitions

Just a few that I came across --

Avoid paying back loans or lending money or other precious items on New Year's Day. To do so is to guarantee you'll be paying out all year.

You should not begin the New Year with the household in debt. Outstanding payments should be made prior to January first. All personal debts should be settled before the New Year arrives.

Don't eat chicken on New Year's Day. Eating chicken foretells you'll be scratching for money.

Eating pork on New Year's Day foretells you'll be fattened with prosperity and money.

Do not begin the New Year with bare cupboards, as that foretells how they'll be for the rest of the year.

A lot of money should be placed in every wallet in the home to guarantee prosperity.

A silver dime placed above each door of your house at precisely 11:59 PM will mean money will flow into your household all year.

A wrapped piece of cabbage placed into your wallet will ensure it will never be empty throughout the coming year.

With a rotting piece of cabbage in your wallet, I can see why it will never be empty.
