• Self heating coffee in a can? Would you pay $2.25 for it?

I guess there is a new can coffee that is coming out next year to grocery stores that heats itself with a push of a button. Here's the article.

    1. Would you personally buy it?

    2. Do you think it will be a hit?

Heh, No I wouldn't buy it but I bet plenty of Americans would. Truthfully I don't like coffee! But soup that instantly reheated, that I would prolly get for occasional use when traveling, we always pack rather than stop and I hate PBnoJ. I also think it is a clue that free market economy is better than any other form, since the article said MRE's take several steps to heat, while the coffee is just a push button. Though I am sure the MRE will improve now with a new idea and all.

Yep, I would buy it. Not for everyday, but on those cold days that I have to stay outside for wahtever reason. And if I were camping, I would have a bunch.

I'm sure it will be a hit. I bet in 10 years, you'll be saying, "do you remember when there weren't heated cans?"

No way. I use a thermos if I'm out and about.

How do you convice a kid to drink soup? He certainly can't be trusted to use a spoon in my car!!!! I used to make things like pizza pockets and whatnot to keep warm when we went to the ice rink, but it never really worked to well. Nothing would keep it warm for the 20 minute trip .

Actually I have thought of a thermous for soup for my DH and I or at least me (have I mentioned I hate PBnoJ)

Thermoses work really well. I take one filled with coffee everymorning and it is still piping hot at lunch time. It would work just as well with soup.

I have a thermos that kept my coffee hot all night long and then the next morning at home, it would still be warm enough to drink (cool, but still not too cold, I hate cold coffee, has to be a certain temp for me to drink it). So, probably close to 12 hours.

The expense is not worth the convenience to me.
