I think that in the past, that I was always putting other's needs before my own even in the financial sense. I can look back now and see where that wasn't nurturing me in the sense that I could have probably gone to college, starting saving earlier for retirement, and not have had the debt that I did. While we didn't give them everything, we did pay out too much. We need to teach others and especially our family members that life is about other people too and not just about them.
