  • Happy Passover

I just want to wish those who observe a very happy Passover! We had a nice family seder tonight and hope you all did as well.

Happy Passover to all as well. I am Christian but we are (trying) to follow the Jewish traditions because that is what Jesus did and we want our little one to understand them thoroughly. So we are celebrating Passover and the Resurrection. Besides the "accepted Christian" traditions are quite often borrowed form Pagan holidays or traditions and we don't want that. DS since you celebrate them do you have any advice for us?

I think the most important thing is to retell the story of the Jews exodus from Egypt. There are those who say that the Last Supper was actually a Passover seder, so there are certainly connections between the religions.

There are lots of good kid's books about the Passover story. And, of course, there is always the classic Ten Commandments movie.

There is actually a church in our area that has an interfaith Passover seder every year. Our rabbi officiates at the program and leads a full Jewish seder at the church. It is always very well received by Jews and non-Jews in attendance.

We all followed passover in my family (and both churches i grew up in too!). I love the richness of the traditions like those.
