Not going to happen in my case, either. Early adopters of Microsoft products don't fare well.

These days I have no struggles with wanting to buy something."There is some ontological doubt as to whether it may even be possible in principle to nail down these things in the universe we're given to study." --text msg from my kid

only organic food, I love organic food but it is so expensive. DH and I used to be Trader Joes/New Horizons/Whole Foods people all the way but now it just doesn't fit in the budget. We try to buy organic but cannot shop solely at those stores.

Re: What Are You Struggling To Not Buy?
Interesting thread.
For me, I struggle with several things. Since we've pretty much gone cold turkey with spending, I'm having a hard time right now.
We used to go out to dinner, A LOT. I don't particularly like cooking and dinner out was just so easy (and expensive). We've been doing well and are sticking to our once a week dinners out.
I'm also wanting to buy some clothes and shoes. We are going on vacation in June so inevitably there will be some spending in this category and some of it will likely be on credit, but not much.
My other want: a Palm Pilot. I'm bidding on one on Ebay right now although I'm not sure that I'll win.

Re: What Are You Struggling To Not Buy?
what am i struggling to not buy? everything!
my struggles aren't really with my own spending, but with DH's impulses. right now it's a TV. there's one on sale, a good brand good TV yadda yadda yadda. and yes, ours is on it's last leg, and yes, just the part to fix ours is half the price of the new TV. thing is, we just don't have the money saved.
my suggestion to DH: sell the canoe we don't want, put that money w/ our 'vacation' money and POOF, we can have a TV.
DH's suggestion to me: buy the TV now using the money we have saved for homeowner's insurance and 'pay ourselves back' when the canoe sells. um, but what if the canoe doesn't sell????
grrrrrrr.....

Re: What Are You Struggling To Not Buy?
I am currently struggling to not buy anything that is not really necessary. I really hope to pay off our last remaining credit card balance by the end of the year. We've been so close to it before, but then we relaxed too much and it got out of hand again in addition to unexpected expenses coming up.
A few months ago, we were seriously considering looking for a house or land. It was very difficult to accept that we are not ready for that financially yet. We just have to keep working on getting everything in order, and hopefully we can get into a house in a few years.
