      Not struggling, but waiting.

HDTV. We paid cash for a big screen 14 months ago and would have nowhere to put it, so wife has vetoed the idea.
DVD player. We want a second DVD player. Our first one is old, not that good, and our second TV is used by our nieces when they visit... but no DVD on the 2nd TV.
New PC with windows Vista. Vista looked cool at Best Buy, but I am in no hurry to get it.
Vacations. 2 weddings this year, Plus our annual wine tasting trip to upstate NY. Wife also wants to go to Vegas. I GUESS I'll go with her, LOL.

This is first year both Roth IRA's are fully funded, so after that, getting any of above is GRAVY.

I'm struggling not to buy an XBox 360 right now. I have been fighting the urge, and winning, for 4 months now.

Books. There are some sales going on right now at a few small presses and indie bookstores, so I keep loading up my cart. Also, I just joined a home/garden/crafts/cooking book club to get books on renovations and woodworking, so I'm trying not to go overboard with that. I'm also bidding on a few money books on eBay (Tightwad Gazette, Money Makeover, etc.).

A refurbed MacBook Pro. I would really like a Mac machine, and one that's current. There's several arguments for and against this purchase, to the point they all cancel out and I'm still undecided. :-/

A house. We've been looking at listings for months, if not years. It's not so much that we're not sure if we can afford it as getting around to doing the physical stuff, like getting a realtor and going to the houses we've been eyeing. I guess this one's more struggling TO buy, not struggling NOT TO buy.

            Take-out. God, I love getting take-out.

Well, I need a good warm short coat. I have plenty of cute jackets, but nothing is really warm.

                SOOOO much to list....

                *furnace + c/a
                *a hi-e washer
                *new couch
                *new jacket w/ a HOOD
                *dresser for the kids room
                * draperies or nice blinds
                *windows
                *siding

But for sure I"m struggling not going to the stores to look @ clearance racks as I've seen bargains posted for diapers & I'm just all worked up & want to look @ my local store BUT I don't have the $ & we've got bilzzard warnings.

i've been struggling for 3 years not to buy one of the new nice flat panel screens for my desktop.. *sigh* ..I've had the same chunky cream colored monitor since 1997. I just keep recycling it through my past few computers! Every time I think of buying one - then realize i could put that money on a car payment or my ROTH, I cringe and stop myself!

For the last couple of weeks I've been struggling to not buy groceries until the first of the month! Got.to.stay.out.of.the.store!!

So far, so good, haven't bought fresh groceries since 2/6. I did buy at the scratch n' dent store on the 21st, but it was all either canned or boxed goods, nothing fresh. This shopping on the 21st was actually a brain-fart as I FORGOT that I was trying not to shop! DUMB!

Trying to work myself up to a once-a-month mindset!

you might want to reconsider getting the LCD monitor: they use 40-60% less electricity than a regular monitor. the prices on the LCDs have come down a lot in the past couple of years, and assuming you keep this one 10 years like you did this last one, you could wind up saving a fair amount on your electric bill over the course of time.
