  • How would your friends describe your personality?

How would your closest friends describe you, in terms of your personality?

What are the good things they would say?

What are the bad things they would say?

I'll get us started. Those who know me would probably all agree I am:

    Smart
    Quiet
    Self-sufficient
    Independent
    A hard-worker
    Very organized
    Detail-oriented
    Pragmatic
    A very good writer
    Goal-oriented

On the downside, they might also say I can be:

    Blunt at times
    Impatient
Sloppy in private: i hate making my bed!
A neatnik when company's coming: Nothing out of place!

Now it's your turn. Be honest!

Re: How would your friends describe your personality?

The people that know me. . .I mean really know me. . .would say that I always have the best intentions at heart even if it doesn't come off that way. When someone offends me, I get emotional and can come off the wrong way.

I am defensive when it comes to what I care about. . . my family and my friends. Don't mess with those that I love, and we'll get along great.

Usually I am upbeat but I was trying to plan a 10-year reunion and having to deal with girls who were like the ones in that movie "mean girls." I found out that after 10 years, nothing has changed. They want to hold the reunion in a bar, no matter how many of our childhood friends do not feel comfortable in a bar. When you start making fun of people for their beliefs, especially those that I've known since I was 5 years old, I get angry. Oh, and you frugal folks can appreciate this, they even made a comment about "people will buy clothes they can't afford to attend and that is the way it should be." PUHLEEZ.

            Foot in mouth diseased.

This is a really tough one. It makes me have to face myself. Why do want to know?

I don't know how I am perceived online, but in real life, I am actually very quiet and shy. There is a part of me that is quite the jokester, but I think that's largely "closeted" due to my shyness. I think you just get to see more of it online because it's a medium that can sort allow me to get past that.

I also value extreme efficiency in anything that I do. However, that's largely because I'm so impatient. I want to get things done right here, right now, and done exactly right. Yeah... I admit I am rather anal and perfectionistic. The upside is that my bosses think I do a decent job at work. The downside is that I could sometimes get impatient with other people, which is especially bad if they're not related to work. I do try my best to slow down and be patient with other people though.

I also personify the cliche, "Look before you leap." I am very methodical... very. The downside is that I am not spontaneous.... My friends would probably say that I don't know "how to live". Metaphorically, I'm the kind of guy who could build a car, but then not know where to drive to with it.

Things have gotten quite complicated since my divorce though. I am encountering fringe parts of my personality that I don't think I've ever seen or at least faced before. But now that I have, I am not sure what to make of it... except that I realize now that I still have much growing to do. The experience has jarred me quite a bit.

            This will take time....

Friends?? Isn't that an old TV show? Other than that, I don't know anything about any friends.

Most people say that I am funny and do not act my age at all. My downside is that I am really not "good" at anything. But that is ok, I am a very happy person.

I think most of my friends would say I am caring, ambitious, witty and generous

postive traits: motivated, good sense of humor, intellegent
negative traits: world's worst micro-manager, very perfectionistic when it comes to work, impatient with slowness and incompetence

haha... i did that... i guess because i can be rather reserved too...

                            honest
                            friendly

                            crafty/creative
                            homebody
frugal =D (surprised nobody mentioned this)

                            lazy/cluttered at times
                            indecisive

contradictory... i think part of the reason i had trouble with my first list is because i can be contradictory... i'm very traditional/conservative in some ways and non-conformist in others... i like being behind the scenes and unnoticed and i like being appreciated and complimented...

btw, i was wondering if any of you guys think some of your personality is related to your zodiac signs because i've found myself to be a typical Dog person even before i knew what that meant...

I don't really know, oddly enough.

But in the past, two or three of them have said that I am very domestic. That surprised me, but I think what they really meant was, "Joan is very domestic compared to me." And compared to them, I am. Yeah, they may know how to make a sandwhich, but they wouldn't know how to cook the roast beef to make the sandwhich--it has to be lunchmeat from the store. Yeah, they might know how to make up their beds, but if they have to buy new sheets, they have know idea whether their bed is twin, full, or king.

My friends are well old enough to know all these things, too. It just hasn't been important to them. I don't think I am particularly domestic, just very practical.
