nah, tinap, not 'Great Value' -- think cheaper yet!

Yes, that both came out of the same run should show folks that name-brand labels don't often mean all that much.

trying to think of pb that would be more generic than store brand, and the only things popping into my head are "Decent Value" and "Sam's Second Choice"

nice catch on the 79c PB. best i've found is store brand for 99c, and the occasional BOGO skippy.

when i splurge, i get fresh ground PB or almod butter from the health food store. GAaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!! yumm!

But you don't understand. I had a COUPON to buy Peter Pan Peanut Butter! I was enticed, entrapped, flimflammed, and bamboozled.

The only coupon I've used this year. Betrayed by ConAgra.

We were not affected as we buy Skippy but it is rather scary though.

If you asked for Jif in Australia and ate that then you'd really be sick. Jif here is a cream cleanser used for kitchen and bathroom surfaces.

We had 2 jars of it at work. I had 1 jar at home and my mother had a jar of it! No one has gotten sick and most of the jars were half eaten! We went ahead and threw them away!

We had two jars, unopen. I'm just bummed because I bought them on sale! .99/each!

i found out by accident, actually on this site. I had logged on to blog and saw someone had mentioned it. I read there blog then checked the jar I had just opened and fed some of to my 3 yr old and myself. Sure enough it was one of them. My DH was so disgusted he threw it away. I wasn't happy since I could have exchanged it.

We threw out three jars that were partially eaten, and one or two new jars.
Noone had any symptoms, thank God! We threw them out anyway.
I'm sorry that others have had problems. I'm wondering if the store across the street is still selling it.
                      I need to check!

Not us, but friends of ours had a scare. She had an open jar of PP and the serial number matched, and the scary thing is she's pregnant with twins. She freaked out but the doctor said she and the babies were fine.

I got sick eating Vietnamese meatballs (which are flavored with peanut butter) two weeks ago.

I feel really bad bout this. Hopefully after the this the USDA would have stricter regulations and inspections.
