I'm curious to hear what people are doing to earn a little extra money on the side. What do you sell in your ebay store or at craft fairs? If you provide a service, what is it and how do you find clients? Are you working for yourself or are you technically a part-time employee? How many hours per week do you spend? I'm also interested in any good websites for ideas...

Husand plays poker..for real, he makes a killing get tips from free rollers before you try at home, also sells junk on Ebay when I pester him enough.
One thing I noticed when he ebays, if he researches first, looking at who is selling similar items, and tries to be 'better' (cheaper, easier, more, whatever) he gets more bids, mostly. When he just lists, he doesn't always even sell much less turn a pretty penny.
So note to self, pester him to list, but leave the what up to him....
Oh yeah, the stuff is all old junk, I good will it and move on, he ebays...slowly.... -

I am employed full-time as a contract attorney at a small firm. on the side I do bankruptcy and immigration cases (20% of the fee goes back to the referring attorney). I get referrals from the firm I work at and several others (I just called around told people what I was going to do and they send referrals to me). I also ebay---have a storage unit full of momentos that dad and grandma kept, because a lot of it is unique, regional ano/or vintage, it does pretty well. I do used books on half.com and amazon.com as well.
DH does commissioned artwork and tattoo designs for people. He set up a website and also networks through myspace.Comment

with an internet site as well as craft fairs and art shows. I have pieces in the city gallery and a coffeehouse.
Markio authored a similar thread to this a week or so ago, do a forum search for more thoughts.

I sell real estate, aside from my "regular" job. It's a bit tough to break in to, as far as start-up costs, association and MLS dues, and the cut-throat competition. I mostly sell for friends and families, as well as a few investors I met when I started 5 years ago. I have to work under a broker, but I am technically an "independent contractor". I mostly rely on word of mouth, but also on referrals generated by our office or web site. I plan to get a magnet car sign soon too, as I have found that half the battle is just getting people to be aware of what you do. I can spend anywhere from 1-10 hours per week on this.
We also e-bay and sell on half.com occasionally, but more to get rid of stuff than to make any big profits.Comment

I sell a little on ebay, very little lately. I sell Veggie Tales on the side. They started having them sold via the home party method and online (I have a website) in September of 06.Comment
