  • Silly Little Things You Do

To save money, that is. For example, I use my electric kettle to boil water before putting it into a pot on the stove for cooking. I don't really know if this saves electricity, but I read somewhere that it does. Every time I do it I wonder if it's really worth it, but it can't hurt.
What little things do you do?

Even if it doesn't save money it prolly keeps you in the mindset of saving and ofers a little pat on the back each time you do it. I am trying to use less conditioner on my hair (it is really, really long) and every time I wash it I pat myself on the back for using less then my old habit, even though it only saves me a couple of pennies a wash I feel like I did something good. (course when I am distracted and use the old amount I beat myself up, but that is beside the point)

I have a small 3 person lake boat that I was given mayber 15 years ago. I have never sailed it, but I spend a day each year keeping it in shape. I have no idea why I do this. There is no financial reason to do so. I think it is just a habit that I developed. If I ever sailed it or sold it, the price to register it for 15 years back would probably be well more than the boat is worth.
