Short version of a very very long long story,

My soon to be exwife did a balance transfer to a Bof A account that is in my name only, of 4K about a week before all hell broke loose, only she didn't tell me. So after paying off 1 cc of 8K I set my eyes on the Bof A card and got the low down on the transfer well this has to paid off and fast I hate owing money to anyone not mention those that charge interst. So to the question, I can pay this off in 2 months and live like a cave man or apply for cc and do a blance transfer what would you do? After paying the Bof A I would be debt free and on my way back to my own home and out of Mom's house and remember Mom is always a Mom

Go for the balance transfer in my opinion! Sorry to hear about your troubles.

      Yikes. Sorry to hear that.

It's a good thing I managed all the money and our finances were largely separate. I didn't have to go through that kind ordeal.

Did you tell BofA this?? That's fraud. If she did a balance transfer using one of your credit cards and her name's not on the account, that's really no different than if any stranger had done that to you.

I don't know if it would do any good, but if this just happened I would contact BofA's fraud department and tell them what she did. They might not be able to do anything about it, but it certainly doesn't hurt to ask. If you transfer the funds to another account first, though, then you really can't dispute what she did. It's worth a try, in my opinion. They may be able to do a reverse BT back to the account it came from.

If the BofA was a joint account and she did a balance transfer onto it, that would be one thing. But if she's simply dumping debt onto an account that's solely your responsibility -- even if the debt itself was joint to begin with -- that's wrong. And doing so without your permission is something you should be concerned about.

Since she probably did this online, I would strongly suggest changing all your usernames and/or passwords to any accounts you have set up online. I still remember my ex-husband's SSN and we've been divorced for 5 years -- not that I would do anything with it, but you get the idea.

Yep, just like that. Man was that a great character or what. and thats about what my life is like. The faud thing is a good question but not sure if I want to go down that road, lots of money at stake, my business, joint property, 401K, 40K in cc debt she is willing to pay, ect, ect, ect.
Thank God no kids to fight over.
