[QUOTE=
There are so many 'kids eat free' (should start a new thread)
Just yesterday noticed one at:
Baja Fresh (this is like a La Salsa or Sharkey's rest.): 'Kids Eat Free'-Sat & Sun
Thx.[/QUOTE]
There is always a catch to these. People that have more than 2 children or the single mom. All of ours are 1 child free per paying adult. Sometimes it is still to expensive to eat out with 2 free kids and 2 pay kids. we rarely take the kids out to eat.

The food sounds good to me. I'd try the place."There is some ontological doubt as to whether it may even be possible in principle to nail down these things in the universe we're given to study." --text msg from my kid

Re: Pay What You Can Afford Restaurants
well, as a privately owned business it wold seem the proprietor could refuse service to those who've previously stiffed the restaurant. i read in the article where one of the owners did confront a table of guests who'd simply not paid multiple times.
along the same lines, one of their websites stated they're applying for non-profit status so they can ask for donations etc, and in that situation i'm guessing everyone would get fed. just a guess, though.
either way, i live close to asheville and i would expect to see a restaurant like this pop up there any day. if the food's good, i'm definitely willing to give it a go.

Re: Pay What You Can Afford Restaurants
What an awsome idea! I'd be more than happy to volunteer some time helping out to pay for my families meal!
I agree my kids don't eat enough to even bother w/ a kids meal (dh thinks they should have one though), I think if they have an order of fried & a burger or chicken to split that's usually more than enough.

Re: Pay What You Can Afford Restaurants
What really concerns me is that maybe a group of people would not pay a couple of times, and when the owner confront the people, the people would physically harm the owner.
A couple of years ago there was a waitress in my neighborhood who ran out after a group of people who did not pay. The group of people ran her down in their car. She died on the scene.
