Re: Do you have plans for New Year's yet?

I am not a good late night guest or host...I tend to want to sleep by 10pm..

so we usually just stay home.

Poor DH....because he works the 4pm-1am shift at work, he has no problem being a night owl....He and DD3 usually ring it in together...while mom konks out by 11...

I will be in Paris, yep.. actually New years eve day will be in Disneyland Paris and then who knows where we will be a the event.. Its my big last time I will be able to have a big vacation because Iwont be able to afford it for a long time after I get back and buy a house which leads to kids which lead to no money and rare vacations.... But dont worry.. im credit card debt free and have savings to cover it and a good solid downpayment savings that wont be touched... oh its also my "i just go my first bonus and im blowing i all on this vacation" vacation. hehe..

          I don't.....
Firstly, I have to say that I found this comment EXTREMELY funny! I was expecting you – the one who started the thread and asked the question – to have some elaborate NYE plans you wanted to share. I wasn't expecting, "I don't..." So, whether it was intentional or not, thanks for making me laugh!

          Now, on to the question...

Ironically, although NYE was never a special thing for me growing up, Mark and I actually have a very strong NYE tradition. It is the only holiday that we've spent together, every year, since we met. The first one was in 2002, when I went to visit him in England for a couple of weeks. We didn't go out but instead stayed in and made a GREAT meal: carbonara, broccoli casserole, garlic bread, sparkling cider and a dessert of some kind. It is, simply put, a heart attack on a plate, but SOOOOO GOOOOD!!!

Then we watch a DVD of some kind -- "The Office" (British version), "Lord of the Rings" or something geeky like that -- then watch the ball drop at midnight. Mark never usually makes it that long, the last two years he's dozed off before then, but that's ok. It's still a nice tradition, and I now look forward to NYE every year.

NYE is the aniversary of the day we met..

So the fact that we often stay home, put the kids in bed and enjoy some champagne together, is pretty expected....

New Year's Eve will be my youngest daughter's 1st birthday and we'll be spending a quiet evening at home. Beats last year when we spent the night in the hospital. She was born at 11:10 PM so she just missed a shot at being the first babies of 2006. Instead she was one of the last in 2005.

Not sure this year. The boyfriend's family is coming up from Venezuela to Orlando. Doing something with them but not sure what yet. Probably involves a theme park. Im hoping we get to go to Pleasure Island. I live the spinning dance floor there

I'm off between Dec 20 to Jan 1.

I'm not sure what to do with that time yet... that won't cost too much.

I am renting a 10 person cabin for two nights over new years. I really do not like to be out driving around during new years.
