    i read a great tip on this very thing: when you have a sentimental useless something, take a picture of it. or take a picture of your family, yourself, or a loved one with it. whichever you choose, keep the picture and give the item to someone who will use it. that way, you'll always have the picture to remind you of what it was that was so special.

      Thanks. I was told to also take pictures also. After all, it's the memory of the object not that we always touch it or hold it.

        I gave away a washing machine for my MIL (I posted on freecycle for her). I recently went through my clothes to donate what I didn't need to a clothing drive. I also have a pile of new things (several unopened toys, sweatshirt, socks, etc.) from my regift pile that I am going to donate to a Christmas drive.

          I gave some money to a lady in need. I also gave away my treadmill to a lady that needed to exercise for medical reasons. (I got a new one)
