i broke down and went, but didn't leave the house until 1p today. theory was all the hard-core shoppers would be eating, and it worked pretty well! plus stores on my list weren't the super popular ones

I bought a car! Shopping today was more out of necessity than it being Black Friday. I said that I would keep my car until it rolled over and begged for mercy. Well, Monday, there was a huge puddle of oil and oil leaking everywhere. This problem has been recurring and I've taken it in several times only to find out that the problem was not fixed. Luckily, I found out about some folks who were desperately looking for a cheap car. i told them about all the problems I had with my old car. they still wanted to buy it and paid cash for it on Wednesday (leaving me without a car). i guess they thought a car that leaves a trail of oil in its path is no biggie. I had my old car for 7 years.

Anyways, we got a 06 Mazda6. We got $4500 knocked off the sticker price!!

Well I just wrote about my day in my blog I got some deals but boy did I pay the price I was up at 3am I think dont even remember LOL!!! ALL I know is Iwas waiting for $10 gc to sears at 4am this morning think I must have lost my mind LOL!!!

Missed it. One year My Guy did score a couple great deals at Staple's....super cheap thumb drives and LCD monitors. I've never "done" Black Friday; I may have shopped on that day but it would have been a normal errand, not a deal. I don't enjoy shopping.

I realize that there are some great deals out there. A lot of things, though, I either prefer used-thrift store, garage sale, or vintage, like furniture. When I can get "in good shape," or like new, or never used with tag items at garage sales for fifty cents or three dollars, it just doesn't seem cheap to pay $10 or $20 or $50. Items like electronics (thumb drives, LCD monitors!) would be the exception I might go out for.

I've never gone shopping on Black Friday before. I hate shopping and dread overcrowded stores and malls. But since I was working anyway and had to drive right past Target on my way, I did stop in to pick up something for my nephew. He's a big fan of the Simpsons so I got him season 7. Retail price is $49 and I got it for $16. That's too good a deal to pass.

Yes, I'm afraid I did shop. I bought a sweater for myself, full-price, at an independent boutique. I also got a deal on the special Tom Waits CD set for my spouse's Christmas present. I'm okay with ignoring Buy Nothing Day, as I feel having three buy nothing days a week outstrip the importance of abstaining on "Black Friday."

Found better deals online, for the most part.

But I tore up a local Gap outlet for clothes for my dad. He recently lost weight and needed smaller clothes

1 pair jeans
2 pairs of khakis
3 long sleeve sweater/shirts

All for $70. Not bad. 1 parent down, 1 to go

I went to three places but just for necessities.
Lowes: Caulk and strapping tape
Walgreens: Razors and Medicine
Grocery Store: Water and fruit

I had planned to go to Younkers because I saw a great pair of shoes in the ad. I had such a headache though and I had no desire to fight the crowds.

Nope. It was a true no spend day for me. Although if I was looking for something in particular, I would have gone. Don't like those lines. Did you save a lot?

Old Navy: 1 Women's Cashmere Sweater, 2 Men's Long Sleeve Button Up Shirts for $40, thanks to lower Black Friday Prices and a scratch off coupon we were given when we walked in.

We took our time - went at something around 10am.

I arrived at Kohl's at 8:15 am, picked out some socks my mother wanted but walked out without buying them when i saw the line that wrapped around the entire store. I would have waited an hour. Just not worth it. I was disgusted and annoyed that the store hadn't beefed up with extra cashiers for the anticipated rush.

No shopping here. I was in the woods at 4:45am and I left at about 5:10pm. Thw malls were mobbed but the woods were pretty empty!
